Harry Potter and the…

i used to think that a foot of parchment was a lot and feel bad when harry potter characters were assigned to write that much
but then i realized the paper i write on is 8.5 by 11 inches.
so a foot of parchment is the equivalent of like, a page and a half of paper.
they complained SO MUCH about essays that were like
a page and a half
wtf guys
get your shit together

“Harry Potter is symmetrical.”
Not just symmetrical - this is ring composition, favoured by Homer and other good writers. The 4th book is at the centre of the ring.
JK Rowling knows her beans.
Reblogging because I like that phrase a lot.

#I love this because with all the magic that Sirius could have used he just went #“I’m gonna punch this bitch right in his face.”

In trying to find a significant quote from or about Remus Lupin, the most common phrase that accompanied Remus throughout every book was simply, “Lupin smiled”.

Books that own my soul → The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling
We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided. Lord Voldemort’s gift for spreading discord and enmity is very great. We can fight it only by showing an equally strong bond of friendship and trust. Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.

“Harry witnessed Professor McGonagall walking right past Peeves, who was determinedly loosening a crystal chandelier, and could have sworn he heard her tell the poltergeist out of the corner of her mouth, ‘It unscrews the other way.’”

Is no one going to mention that photo of Dudley?

#I can’t believe they cut this #this was such an important moment in the series Dudley has tormented Harry all his life and has possibly been one of the most cruel people Harry has even encountered and here he is apologizing in the only way he can and Harry is accepting it #I cried when this happened because two boys that lived together throughout the majority of their lives thus far that hated each other put aside their differences knowing yet not admitting that they might never see each other again because it was highly likely one of them would die

The first and the last ones are the only ones with curtains on the sides. That makes it seem like it’s a play, opening its curtains at the beginning and closing them at the end.
